Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Help with Traffic: If you can help with directing traffic before or after school, please let the office know.
Host and After School Club: If you are interested in hosting an After School Enrichment Class, please contact Amy Raupach through the VCS office. Fingerprinting and T.B. Tests are required for all adults working with students after school, but there is no cost to you.
Lead A Tour: VCS Campus Tours are given monthly through April. If you would like to lead a campus tour, please contact VCS Charter Council Director Sharlynn Willingham or Office Manager Patricia Whitman. This is a fun way to to earn volunteer hours and share what makes VCS so special!
Provide Translation: A Spanish translator is need for the VCS campus tours, and for school communication documents. This is a great way to volunteer both on and off campus! If you can help with this, please contact Office Manager Patricia Whitman
Attend A Charter Council Meeting: Please consider attending a monthly VCS Charter Council meeting. The Charter Council is similar to a school-site council and is charged with upholding the VCS charter. Attendance is a great way to find out what is going on at VCS.
Attend A VCS PTO Meeting: The PTO meeting discusses upcoming activities, events & fundraising at VCS. Attendance at PTO meetings will go towards your volunteer hours! You do not need to be a current PTO member to attend.
Lunch Duty: Help is welcome in the VCS lunchroom and on the play yard everyday of the week! Check in with the office when you arrive, please.
Make A Donation: Families can earn up to 5 hours of the total volunteer commitment through donations. Ask your child’s teacher what is needed; check in at the VCS office or with an Art or Dance teacher. When logging hours for donations, calculate the time earned procuring the donation, not the monetary value of the item.
